Celebrating 10 years of service!
WELCOME TO COCAL GRACIAS
A Non-Profit working with Jesus in Honduras
FOOD DRIVE -FEED HONDURAS
COCAL GRACIAS is committed to provide for families in need during the COVID restrictions that have devastated the economy and the country of Honduras. From now through August 15, we are raising funds to continue to provide food donations. Our goal is $15,000 to reach an additional 500 families. Read the call to action by our director below to get a sense of the need. God bless.
With Covid-19 Honduras is on lockdown, but the kingdom is not! COCAL GRACIAS is directly involved with giving vital care to families during the crisis. We have distributed food to over 750 families and counting in their time of need.
THANK YOU COCAL FAMILY!
A Call to Action from our Executive Director
COCAL GRACIAS is more important than ever! We are sustaining many families in their most critical time of need. The COVID lockdown has been in effect since March. Since March, there is no public transportation and taxis are prohibited. People are only allowed to circulate once every 15 days; that is only 2 days a month to do all your business and buy groceries. All essential business that are open, can only negotiate with you if it is your day to circulate. If it isn’t you cannot buy anything. If you drive your personal car on a day that is not your circulation day, the government takes your car, throws you in prison, and fines you. People are not allowed to work. Businesses that are open have reduced personnel and the Honduran family is suffering. Non-profits have been told they must give their donations to the local governmental authorities to distribute where they see fit, and many families are left out. COCAL GRACIAS has been donating food without fanfare, without public recognition, so that we can get it to the families that are most in need. I get messages from many families who were starving and received a bag from COCAL GRACIAS. There are families literally living off of YOUR generosity. We are making a second campaign with the goal of $15,000 to provide another 750 bags of provisions. This is the most critical time in Honduras. One missionary friend said it felt like the aftermath of Hurricane Mitch that destroyed the country in 1998, but without the natural disaster. The disaster is the government and the COVID restrictions. COCAL GRACIAS reached both goals on the first campaign and I expect no less on this one. What if we went over and we could provide 1000 provisions? I ask that you consider what you can give and be a part of this great effort!

MINISTERIO LA VOZ
For Those of you who are wondering about our regular activities, classes in the ministry have been suspended by the government, but we continue to serve and teach our 69 English students online. We continue to provide bible studies and pastoral care to our students through videos, Whatsapp, and Zoom. Don Will is building us a ministry phone app that will be used for future online classes. Rosa, along with her family and friends has dedicated her quarantine to visiting the ministry and sewing masks for emergency personel in our town, and for neighbors. Kimberly, Mario, Teodo, Brayan and Heidy have been working on providing donated food to needy families. We are preparing for the future when classes can resume on campus. Construction on our Children's Center will resume as soon as people are allowed to work. We hope to still complete the first two classrooms this year and begin to serve children. We need a further $50,000 for the center but are well on our way. We look forward to receiving mission teams again and believe there will never be a better time to come and serve than after Covid-19. In the meantime, we can bless at risk families wih food. God bless all of you and thank you for your support!
